A site is found!
22 November 2007The new Logan North Library, which will be located next to the Springwood Aquatic Centre on the corner of Sports Drive and Springwood Road Underwood, began construction in early November 2007 and is due for completion in July 2008. The new 1500 square metre facility will replace the existing Logan North Library (1,100 square metres), which has been located in rented premises on the corner of Springwood Road & Pannikin Street Rochedale South since 1995. The lease for these premises was not available for renewal. The new site is located less than 500m from the existing library. The new state-of-the-art library will feature an excellent collection facility, expanded internet facility, a community meeting room, stop and drop returns, an expanded special needs centre, and a community workshop area. The new library was designed by Wilson Architects and is being constructed by Project Co-ordination (Queensland) Pty Ltd.
