Britanica Online - Library Editions

Encylopedia Britannica Online (Full Text) includes the complete encyclopedia, as well as Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary and Thesaurus, Britannica Student Encyclopedia and the Britannica Book of the Year.

British Newspapers

British Newspapers 1600-1900 is a comprehensive digital historic newspaper archive that searches the 17-18th Century Burney Collection Newspapers and the 19th Century British Library Newspapers to provide 3 million pages of historic papers, newsbooks and ephemera from the British Isles. The database is fully text searchable and allows users to view entire pages or individual articles, with save, bookmark, e-mail and print options.

Health & Wellness Resource Center

Health & Wellness Resource Centre allows you to find magazines, journals, newspapers, definitions, directories, and information on: Fitness, Pregnancy, Medicine, Nutrition, Diseases, Public Health, Occupational Health and Safety, Alcohol and Drug abuse, Prescription Drugs, Herbal remedies, and alternative or complementary treatments, etc. Included are links to diet, cancer, and health assessment sites as well as government databases. History and Reference Library

History and Reference Library is designed for anyone with an interest in Australian History. It is continually expanded with newer titles. There are currently over 60 different titles, with more added on a continual basis. Most are richly illustrated and over two hours of video footage is also available.

History Clicks

History Clicks is a unique collection of over 1,600 historical photographs relating to the Logan area. The photographs have been donated by relatives of local families, the John Oxley Library, and local photographers such as Keith Schmidt and Joan Starr. Included are photographs depicting the growth and development of the Logan area from the early settlement through to the present day. Featuring images of people, places, events, industry and landscapes, from the collection held in the Logan City Council Libraries.
Hobbies & Crafts Reference Center
Hobbies & Crafts Reference Center is a full text EBSCO database designed primarily for use in public libraries. Includes a collection of articles covering over 140 topics as well as licensed periodicals, books and videos.

Intrepica is an Australian literary source for children that equips teachers and parents with a motivational learning platform that is fun, compelling and addictive for students of all ages and ability. Children create a character/avatar and play literacy games to buy accessories for their avatar.

LearningFast

LearningFast is a set of interactive self-paced computer tutorials designed to teach you skills in using computers and popular computer software. Through Learningfast, you can learn: basic computer, how to use and search the Internet, popular Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint, other applications including MYOB and Lotus Notes. If you complete the ICT (Information and Communication Technology) Skills Benchmark assessment and achieve over 80%, you will be entitled to an ICT Skills Benchmark Achievement Certificate. LitFinder is Roths Family of Literature Databases, including Poem Finder on the Web, which contains over 100,000 full-text poems and over 800,000 poem citations. Story Finder contains thousands of full-text short stories with a genre navigator. Essay Finder is also included, with full-text essays on humanities and social sciences (including literature, history, economics, sociology, art and architecture, philosophy, psychology, science and drama).

Tumble Book Library
Tumble Book Library is a collection of over 150 animated, talking books and related activities. All that is needed is a computer with an internet connection. Your Tutor
YourTutor connects students with expert tutors for live, one-to-one individual learning sessions using voice technology, chat interface, multiple whiteboards, advanced maths type tools, document sharing and browser control. The service is available from Monday to Friday, 4pm – 8pm. Subjects covered: Mathematics, Science, English and study skills.
