Sneak peek!
14 July 2008The new Logan North Library is on schedule for its anticipated opening date of Monday the 4th of August. We would like to remind borrowers that the library will not be closed at anytime before the move to the new library. We will close at the normal time of 4.00pm Saturday the 2nd of August at our current premises, and reopen on the Monday at our new facility. Below is a sneak peak at what the new library will look like!

The brand new Logan North Library

The Logan North Library’s construction is coming along nicely! The new library, located on the corner of Sports Drive and Springwood Road in Underwood, will be moving location late July or early August 2008. Final moving date will be advised. We look forward to celebrating Logan North Library’s opening in September, with many being able to enjoy the new library facilities, including: |

The countdown begins
17 June 2008The new library is nearing completion as work continues on schedule. The partitions and wall linings have almost been completed. The joinery is 60% complete and the joinery units are 40% complete. The internal painting has commenced. The electrical services are 80% complete. The roofing and flashing are 90% complete. The lift installation has commenced. The building should have full power by Friday.

What a site!
3 June 2008The new library continues to take shape, as we count down the weeks to the expected completion date. Logan Water is currently installing the water supply for the library. The lift will be delivered next week. Installation will take 4 - 5 weeks as the lift car is assembled in the lift well. The suspended ceiling started installation yesterday. Water proofing has been completed (99% before the heavy downfall last week - only a few leaks to deal with). The joinery work will commence next Tuesday. The storm water drainage will be completed next week. 95% of the cladding has been completed. Flooring in the activity area has commenced. General floor installation will be completed by the end of June.
