New Logan North Library
Here comes the library…
20 May 2008The new Logan North Library has been coming together at an impressive rate. The wall linings and partitions have commenced. The external cladding commenced today. The roof is complete except for the lift shaft. The glazing is almost complete; there are a few internal windows left to finish. The mechanical services for the building are 99% complete. The civil drainage work commences tomorrow. The lift is due into the Port of Brisbane on the 2nd of June. It will take 4-5 weeks to install. The building will be water tight in about a week and a half.

Progress, progress, progress…
6 May 2008The structural steel is complete. The internal stud walls and framing have commenced along with the electrical wiring. The roofing and flashing is progressing. The downstairs joinery commences next week. The glazing on the upper floor commences this week. The wall cladding is being delivered this week and the downstairs rendering is complete.

This will be your library!
22 April 2008Logan North Library continues to take shape. The structural steel has almost been completed. The roofing will commence this Thursday, and the roof sheeting will arrive next week. The lower level mechanical services commences next week. Glazing has been completed downstairs, and has commenced upstairs. Painting and rendering downstairs will commence next week.

A roof over our heads
10 April 2008The new library continues to take shape. The front door of the library was fitted this week, as well as the partitions and panels for the lower floor. The blockwork for the garbage enclosure should also be completed this week. The erection of the structural steel has commenced, and will continue over the next few weeks. The lift for the library is coming from Germany and should be delivered late in June.

A little bit here, a little bit there…
1 April 2008Construction of the new library continues to progress. The erection of the structural steel will begin next week. The windows on the ground floor are being installed and the lift for the library should be shipped later this week. The concrete slab is complete, including the stairwell, fire stairs and lift well.
