Walls and Floors

As work continues with the new premises for Logan Central, development of the front of the building looking into the Logan Central staff workroom is coming together. The Local Studies and smaller meeting rooms have had glass doors installed and wall panels have been mounted above the front counter.

Steel upright supports loom under the entry from the Mezzanine foyer and seating is being constructed in the outdoor staff terrace.

Logan Central keeps a steady pace

Logan Central’s new premises keep moving ahead at a steady pace. Photos below include the front of the building, downstairs community meeting rooms and the library entry showing windows into the returns area.

The Newspaper and Magazine area will be in a quiet corner while the Mezzanine foyer overlooks the library entry and library’s main floor.

Logan Central internal space taking shape

As Logan Central’s new premises start to take shape, work has been carried out in the Entry Foyer to create a new glass enclosure, metal framework has been added to create stairs going up from the community area, and metal framework is in place for the downstairs community rooms for public use.

Emergency exits have been added to the community spaces. Framing up of the front entry and the mezzanine above the meeting rooms and local studies room is now in place.

Logan Central’s further development

Further development has been completed on the flooring for the technical services section, where new books for all of Logan’s 9 branches will be processed.

The ramp was demolished at the front of the building. It will be replaced with a new floor. Sheeting at the front of the building has been removed. Looking up, you’ll see a view of the steel purlins in the ceiling.

Logan Central work continues…

Work continues on the new Logan Central library, with removal of some external facade at the front of the building. Steel purlins have been installed to support the ceiling and footings have been dug for columns as the internal structure begins to take shape.
